Rhiannon was getting a bit tired of being in her home all day. Not only was she getting a headache from lack of fresh air, but she was lonely and wanted someone to talk to. She knew that was one of the downsides of living alone, but she really had no other options. Who'd want to live with a woman who was a 'witch'? Taking a breath, Rhiannon finished her washing and decided she'd take a walk outside and get some fresh air.
As she was walking, she heard some hoof beats in the distance. Rhiannon had learned by now that not everyone was out to get her, but she still took precautions. She saw a man on top of a horse coming up behind her. She wasn't more than a few yards from her house so she could at least try to escape if he was hostile. Rhiannon was going to be kind, none the less. She truly pitied the men fighting in the war, it must be very hard to be surrounded by death all the time. She took a step to the side to allow him room to pass her on the path if he didn't want to stop.

Dewi slowed his horse when he saw the woman. It was a rather moody day. Dewi was warm so his jacket was clipped to the saddle. He patted his horses head and then swatted swiftly at a fly catching it, only just. Dewi reached for his sword, he had heard rumors of gypsies, tramps, thieves and witches in this area, he could never be to careful. His regiment was a while back and most of the troops refused to follow him. He wanted to sort these rumors out before his troops tried anything. " Oi! You a witch or what?!"

Rhiannon blinked a few times at the man's rather forward question. She, yes, was a witch, but she wasn't evil or dark. She was about as sweet as could be. She was also dead honest so she would eventually be found out if she lied about her identity. Annie took a step back, ready to at least make an attempt to get away as she answered,
"I am, but I am not in any way evil...Why, who is asking?"
She glanced down, half expecting to be shot right then and there. Her tone was soft, no doubt she was nervous.

Dewi looked furious, almost drawing his sword, but no. Being an officer meant he had to be civilized. The wind picked up and Dewi shivered. He grabbed his jacket and slipped it on quickly, his helmet was still tied to the saddle, he also grabbed it but paused as he was about to put it on his head. There was a spider in it, he squished it and threw it to the floor. He placed the helmet on his head. He would have to scare away this witch. He whistled loud, a pug appeared from behind a small hill with 15 troopers following. " Now, you are scaring away my troops." He then started mumbling in Welsh. He threw many welsh insults. " Hyrtin, yn rhoi ofn i fy milwyr. Ti yn dwp iawn!"

Rhiannon looked up innocently and shook her head at the man. She hadn't been scaring anyone at all! She hadn't even been in contact, let alone seen any men in weeks! She flinched a bit at his Welsh insults, that she understood.
"I wish you wouldn't say such nasty things," Rhiannon pleaded delicately. "And you must be confused, sir," she began, getting worried now that she saw troopers. Rhiannon was scared to death of dogs so that didn't help either. "I haven't ever been in contact with your troops at all..."

Dewi flinched in anger, his face was turning red, a trooper came up to him trying to calm him down but he batted him away. He knew this witch was playing with him, she probably wanted to eat his toes or something like that. His helmet, at a jaunty angle was soon straightened by his pale and steady hand. Most of the troopers stared at her in awe, while a few looked worried. He was mad, he started mumbling in Welsh again. He stopped suddenly, he then nodded as a few of the troopers edged forward holding ropes. " You will come with me or else..." A few troopers drew their swords.

Rhiannon's little heart was beating at insane speeds at the moment. She noticed half the troops were staring a her, jaws hanging open, and the other half looked ready to rip her limb from limb. Swallowing, she glanced back up at their leader on the horse; she really wasn't hurting anyone. In her entire life she hadn't even killed a fly, Annie was too gentle for that.
"S-sir, don't you think, if I were trying to bring harm, I'd be doing it right now? I'm only one woman, what could I possibly do to hurt your men?"

" But you will do more than hurt them..." He nodded, they started nearing. He had his pistol in one hand and his sword hanging from his right wrist. If he killed her he would have his rank taken, but if he had a reason.
Dewi looked back on his past in the Rondda, oh it was fun riding in the fields with his best friend Dafydd. God knows where Dafydd is, he heard he was India. Of course you cant believe everything you hear.
Dewi looked at his timepiece, it had a bullet hole in the middle of it. He cant remembe- oh yes, he had picked it up from a dead captains hand. He neded it repaired but back to current affairs.
" Come here and we wont hurt you babes." One of the troopers teased. Some laughed, their fear evaporated slowly. They were no longer scared, they jeered her in various dialects of Welsh, English and most normal languages. Most of the regiment was Welsh but some were English and had a few Loyalists as well. His trumpeter was Scottish though. He trusted the trumpeter.

"What could I do to them?"
Rhiannon really was curious what the man though she could do. She really had no "powers" but she worked with magick, or the connections between the natural world and herself.
Might as well cooperate and do what he was saying. She hesitated when one of the troopers spoke and teased her. Rhiannon would try to avoid that particular man, but she walked over to the man on the horse. She understood some of the Welsh jests and the English ones, but was clueless on others.
"What is it you want me to do?"

" Stay still." Dewi ordered, a few troopers gathered round her swinging ropes. He pointed at her wrists. " Let them tie you." Dewi turned away as his pug jumped onto his lap. He let it have a bit of water from his canteen. It then jumped down and ran sporadically back to the tatty camp.
Dewi was in a foul mood today. Or at least a bad mood. He had been angered by the rumors and even more at this woman, in what state was she to judge a high ranking British officer? He somehow felt denied, he had enjoyed being a sergeant, until his rich parents insisted on buying him a massive commission. He worked hard for his promotion to Colonel . But he wanted to be part of his troops. But an officer never could, and apparently never should.

Annie did as she was told and offered up her wrists without a fight. She wouldn't stand any kind of chance against any one of these men. Rhiannon rarely ever ate meat since she just couldn't afford it therefore she had little muscle on her body. She was curvy, so that helped her not look as tiny as she really was.
She wondered what would happen to her now. Rhiannon hadn't ever been taken captive before. Unfortunately she didn't have anyone that would come looking for her, so she'd have to either escape on her own, or just wait for them to let her go or do whatever they were going to do to her.
A tall man tied her hands together as she asked the man on the horse, "Where are you taking me?"

" Yn nol i'r camp." He said testing her. A man gave me the long rope which was like a lease to the woman. He wondered where she was from. Dewi was extremely tired after having a kerfuffle earlier on. Most of the men were eager as we lead her over the small hill that was behind Dewis' side of the confrontation point. Over the hill was a small camp containing about 3 quarters of the regiment, the rest had gone off in a forage party. Most men sat in mid camp singing welsh song like mae hen Wlad, Men of Harlech and the rest. The men were sober, even though they looked drunk.
Most turned at the sight of their leader with the witch. they cheered his name. " Dewi! Dewi! Dewi Caradog!" The sergeant told them to get an afternoon nap. Only 6 or 7 of them left to do so, among them the Scottish trumpeter. He led her into the big tent. Dismounting outside of course. He led her in and pointed her to a chair.

Rhiannon nodded and thought maybe speaking in Welsh would lighten up the already horrid mood the man was in.
"Rwy'n gweld dy boint," she said quietly. Rhiannon was still nervous and had no clue what was to become of her now. She wasn't comfortable being around so many men. Rhiannon hadn't been in contact with anyone really in a long while.
Once they walked into camp, she took a look around. There were many tents to be seen, and men around a fire singing Welsh songs. She swallowed and followed the man now known as Dewi Caradog to what was probably his tent and sat like he told her to. Rhiannon crossed her legs and nervously looked around.

Dewi still rather foul managed to pull a smile on his face as he heard his native language. " As you can see, my men are like brothers to me." He pulled a chair to face Rhiannon, he rather liked the look of her now after calming down. He grabbed a wine bottle with a quarter left in it, he poured a glass and handed it to her. He pulled his canteen out and gulped down the water. He removed his cavalry boots and poured what was left of the water onto the toe to clean the mud off. " We need some one who can provide us with herbs and follow us, sort of like a doctor, I was hoping you would give up your witch ways.."

Rhiannon wished he'd untie her. She was in no state to put up any kind of fight or try and run away. He sat down across from her and she looked at him as he spoke to her.
She was about to agree to helping him, Rhiannon wouldn't mind that at all. She smiled, but it faltered a bit when he asked her to change her way of living. Rhiannon sighed softly and said,
"I would not mind being of help to you at all, sir, but I just...I can't just abandon how I've been living my entire life..."
She wouldn't dream of pulling tricks or hurting anyone anyway. Annie added afterwards, "I don't have any "magic" abilities, anyhow..."

Dewi nodded and a man with a slight stubble sliced the rope that restrained her. " That is not what they say.." He drew his sword and wiped it down with a cloth from his top pocket. You could still hear their songs outside. Dewi looked at her in adore, trying to make it slightly obvious, he did adore her. His parents promised him money if he married, but like that would happen. he always wanted love.
" Can you ride? What can you heal? And are you looking for love?"

"Well they're all wrong," she said daintily.
Rhiannon felt her heart speed up a bit when he looked at her in the way he was. She thanked the man who untied her and then looked back over at Dewi. He asked her a few questions but it was the last one that caught her off guard. Love? She hadn't even thought it possible for someone like herself.
"Mmhmm, I do ride; and I can heal anything from open cuts to poisons in certain cases," she said. Rhiannon thought that last question to be a bit odd, but she answered none the less. "Love? Of course I am, who wouldn't want to be loved by another?"

Dewi winked slightly, he had always wanted someone by his side. His pug ran in. His face was wet. Dewi guessed he had found the water. Borris loved water. Dewi sent him off to the boys. The boys always look after Borris. Dewi stood up suddenly, striding towards the girl. He held out his hand for a handshake. " I have not had your name, also. Welcome to the Seventh!" He nodded and the man with stubble grabbed some grey thin blankets and laid them on the ground. It wasn't much but it was a bed. " That is where you sleep."

Rhiannon smiled and blushed a little as he winked at her. She shook his much larger hand with her tiny, thin one and introduced herself.
"I'm Rhiannon, and thank you," she said with a little smile. Rhiannon, again, didn't exactly like dogs so she jumped a little when the pug came into the tent with his wet face. He was cute, no doubt, but she had been attacked once as a girl and never really got over it.
She nodded as he showed her where she'd be sleeping. It wasn't much, and it definitely wasn't her bed she had back in her home, but it would do. Rhiannon had slept outside many times so it wouldn't bother her too much.
"I am assuming you are Dewi Caradog," she asked as the dog went outside.

" Indeed I am." Dewi blushed slightly, he wasn't sure why. He had made sure that the small bed was inside, Dewi was a gentleman and would have traded his warm bed for a bed of nails for a woman he liked any day. Dewi knew some one from his child hood called Rhiannon. He had always had a crush on that ,by know married, Rhiannon. And now he had found his next true love. The fires were stomped out, as the moon rose. A candle was lit in a tent providing a 'cosy' atmosphere fir the two to chat away all night. " Would you like to sleep?" He said sitting on his crude bed in breeches and a tight under gown showing some muscles that people never really saw.
