The darkness was everywhere, there was no speck of light to be seen. It was like swimming when the water was rushing around so fast you couldn't tell which way was up, the darkness felt like drowning. It was in this darkness that Danny found herself swimming in, but she knew she wasn't supposed to be in this, she knew she was supposed to be somewhere else, but where?
She forced herself to focus, to choose which way lead up and into the light. Forced herself to move. but her limbs felt like rocks and would not budge. so she focused on her eyes instead. Slowly, ever so slowly, they began to respond to her commands, and as she felt them begin to move and open, the throbbing pain of wakefulness came over her.
It was then Danny realized she had been unconscious. for how long, she knew not; where she was escaped her as well, but as she began to pull herself out of the blackness, a new darkness surrounded her. This one, however, had patches of light that blinked into her eyes and forced her to turn away. she found she could only move her head though, and tried to move her hands. they were stiff and unmoving, tied behind her.
Danny pulled herself fully out of unconsciousness by shaking her head, it was a mistake. The throbbing doubled in her head and she became aware of the warm trickle of blood running down her cheek and neck, her blood. she focused on her surroundings, she was in a shed or wooden building of some kind with a dirt floor and shadowy lumps all around, maybe firewood, maybe storage bags. there was only one door across from her about five feet away. the light that had been in her eyes came from tiny holes in the wall where the sunlight streamed through, lighting up the dust particles that floated around the room.
where was she? what had happened? she tried to remember but only cause more throbbing in her head, she leaned back against the post her hands were tied to and tried to relax, waiting for someone to show themselves.

OOC: Where *Exactly* is she?
IC: They were both lost. Both very very very lost. Both were also freezing, even though it was spring, because Soren had fallen into a lake, and Asher had pulled him out. That didn't exactly improve their moods either. Asher sighed, and wrapped his arms around his body, as if holding himself together. Soren hissed as a branch hit him in the face, but otherwise the two boys said nothing. They just kept walking. It's not like they were going anywhere, anyways. They passed a rock, and Asher made a mental note of where it was. The forest was apparently against, them, though, because five minutes later, they passed the same exact rock. " We're going in circles! " Soren said, eyes sharp with anger.

Danny was never good at waiting. when after what seemed like eternity no one came to the door, and the throbbing in her head had lessened, she tried to look around and get her bearings. the shed was about 6 feet across by 4 feet, a typical size for a wood shed, but very few pieces of firewood actually remained inside. Danny guessed it was because it was out of commission. maybe the owner had built a new one, or maybe they had a different use for this place now, like holding her.
She shifted he head around slowly, careful not to awake the pain in her head again, and looked behind her. it was a wall, but it had plenty of cracks in it. the wood panels had shrunken and expanded over time and now there were gaps at least a finger's thickness wide in between them. the largest was almost three fingers across. out of this space she was able to view the surroundings. It was a forest, a thick one to be sure, and mountainous. boulders and rocks of every size lay beyond the treeline, moss covered and ancient.
Danny turned back as the ropes around her wrists creaked with strain. she guessed that was the back of the property, and in front where the door was was the rest of the farm. a farm in the middle of no where. it could be few things out here in New Hampshire. at the very worst, Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys. she shuddered. at best, besides being the British of course, it was her old acquaintance Daniel Morgan and his Virginia boys.

Asher swore, and kicked the rock. Unfortunately, he only succeeded in making his foot hurt. Soren did nothing but sigh, and say, "ANd that was not productive." Asher glared at him, until he actually ran into a... shed. "What the?" He muttered, peeking into a crack.
OOC: I will die of post shortness.

Just as Danny began to relax again, her head resting on her chest, the sound of voices caught her attention. it was followed by something hitting the side of the shed and a shadow falling through the sunlit cracks of the wall. Danny decided to stay as still as possible and not feed her curiosity. she quickly closed her eyes and feigned sleep.

"You're sleeping with you hands tied to a fence post. Nice." Asher commented, looking through the widest gap. "I know you're not asleep." he added, kicking the shed gently. Soren looked in as well. "No, seriously, you're not asleep, or unconscious, or dead, we know that." He said, dark eyes convincingly wide.

Danny bit her lip, there were two of them outside the shed peeking in at her, and both of them had the young accent of the colonies. she took in a few deep breaths before cracking open her eyes. she had forgotten what clothes she had been wearing, the British uniform or the scout's buckskin, and was both relieved and disappointed to find the redcoat. now she could not pass off as American, but the people who held her could not hang her as a spy with this uniform.
Turning slowly to the cracks in the wall behind her, Danny came eye to eye with one of the figures outside the shed. he was young, maybe 14 or 15, she could not see his companion as well, but guessed he was around the same age. She licked her dry lips, catching a bit of dried blood from the wound on her forehead on her tongue and spitting it out across the floor.
"You boys part of the gang that put me in here?" She asked, her voice husky from ill-use.

"If we did, we wouldn't be wondering 'what the hell are we doing here' Would we?" Soren asked sarcastically. "Meaning, yes and no. No, we don't know who you are or why you're... where you are. But yes, we are patriots." Asher put in, with a glance at her coat.

Danny bit her lip. these boys were obviously no help to her, they had identified as patriots and had obviously seen her uniform. but could she still use them to get out of here? "look, Lads, you're lost right? If you help me I promise Ah'll take you oot o' these woods. Ah'm a tracker and a scout see? I can have you out of here in no time at all. just help me get out of these ropes and Ah'm all yours!" she said quietly, not wanting to attract any attention from the other side of the shed in case there were any guards posted. If she could get these young boys to help her out, maybe she could make a run for it once she showed them out of the forest...

"How about.... No, since most people we helps in the past tried to kill us." Soren said. "And you being a british soldier doesn't help." Asher added.

Danny clenched her jaw at the two gave a quiet but frustrated sigh. "Ah'm not exactly in any position tae fight anyone, let alone try tae kill yae two young men." she argued back. "and besides, the place where Ah'll be leading yae is deep in patriot country, yae'll be safer than me, there's nothing tae lose here!" She wasn't about to mention the fact that all of New Hampshire was currently Patriot country. there hadn't been loyalists around for months. :but if yae leave me here, yae'll have nothing but another lost trail and the thought that yae could have saved an innocent lad from a horrible death. which will probably happen tae me if I remain here."

"I... Fine." Soren said. "We'll help you." He then proceeded to pull out one of the boards in the shed's wall, and a thick stripe of light illuminated the inside.

Danny squinted and turned her head as more light streamed into the shed, it must be late afternoon to have the sun streaming in so directly. As she turned her head she felt the wetness on her neck from the blood that still oozed down her face from a wound on her forehead. She would need to find a bandage for that soon.
another board was ripped off the wall behind her suddenly. "Keep it down..er..please, sirs, we wouldnae want the whole farm after us." She rolled her eyes when the two weren't looking and squirmed in her bindings. "one of yae hasnae got a knife on them by chance?"

"I do..." Asher said. Soren blinked. "I never knew you had a knife." He said, rather accusingly.

Danny rolled her eyes at the bickering pair. Neither did I, now can ye cut me loose?" she held her bound hands out and as close to the boys as she could. Suddenly there was the sound of voices approaching the shed, they were still some distance off, but Danny began to panic inside. "Hurry! there's someone coming!"

Asher looked up, but sliced through the ropes. "Hurry!" He said, dark eyes wide. If he had any experience with people, which he had very little, he knew they would be in a very bad mood. Soren seemed frozen.

Danny sighed with relief as her hands were freed, blood rushed to her fingers and she curled and uncurled them a few times to speed the return of feeling. then she rolled over onto her knees and grabbed the broken wall to pull herself up and out. once on the outside of the shed she steadied herself against the boards as a brief dizzy spell came over her. she knew they had to act fast to get away. she wiped some of the blood off her face with a sleeve and then motioned towards the forest. "Come on, its best we get out of here, and fast."

Asher nodded, and Soren unfroze. He yanked Danny to her feet, and began running towards the forest. "Come on!!!" He said, not caring if anyone heard him.

Danny flinched when the boy raised his voice and chanced a look behind her, no one was in sight yet, but she could still hear the voices. did she want to risk hiding among the rocks and waiting them out? no, they would find these two and her faster than you could spit. "Come on, this way." She pointed. get out of sight as soon as you can." this would be difficult, they were surrounded by a gulley on all sides, which meant they would have to go down first to get up over a ridge, and anyone watching from the farm had a bird's eye view of their escape.
