"What? You gonna kill me mate? Good luck negotiating then when me lads kill yours"
He didn't even know who was coming, and whether it even was his regiment, but any patriotic soldier was a friend of his, especially now. He didn't even know whether the patriots would even win if they'd assault this camp. After a few seconds, he began to wonder something. Even though he wore the same uniform as the patriots, he did have an english accent. He wasn't scared of the sword pointing at him. He knew that if his opponent was half the man James thought he was, he would be offered an equal chance.

Rhiannon looked up at Dewi. She had never really enjoyed the violence that came into play when people, especially men, spoke to her. The fact that this man, she now recalled, was a POW didn't help the case either. She gently touched Dewi's arm and spoke in her usual calm and sweet tone.
"Dewi 'tis alright, he never did anything to me..."

" Don't go near him again." He said over his shoulder. Dewi lowered the sword, placing it into his scabbard. He looked calm now, he turned to Rhiannon and whispered something. " Look after me."
He spun on his heel, grabbing the captives shoulders and bringing his face down fast onto his knee. The captive fell back slightly as Dewi smiled as blood dripped from his nose. He raised his fists ready for a good 'ol' fisty cuffs. He grinned, a wide grin.

"Ouch mate, shouldn't have done that"
James said, as he was crawling back up. When he stood again, he tightened the muscles in his arm, and hit the brit right on the side of his face with his fist, knocking the man out. He was surprised by the power he had, and stumbled for a few seconds after hitting the man. Then he took off his shirt to clean his face. James didn't like having blood in his face. When he was done, he put the now red, blood soaked shirt back on.

Rhiannon gasped and clasped her hands over her mouth when the two men began throwing punches at one another. Dewi had been knocked out cold but the other Colonel was only wiping blood from his face. Rhiannon swallowed, now a little nervous for her own safety. Sure there were other troops around so he wouldn't escape easily, but still. None of them were near enough now to help her if he chose to harm her.
She sighed, this is why she wished Dewi would just calm down. He was getting himself hurt far too often. She took a rag out from a pocket in her dress and dabbed softly at Dewi's face, not too concerned for him. She felt upset he had been hurt, but he would be alright eventually.
"Might as well patch you up too," she said quietly to James, still unsure of him.

"Please don't, I don't really like doctors. The last time I saw one he wanted to amputate me arm after I broke it, twenty years ago."
This made him think of when he still lived in Britain. His family was quite wealthy and possessed a large mansion with a lot of ground, and a small forest. He always loved to climb the trees there, and it was when he fell from a tree that he broke his arm, and the doctor wanted to amputate it. Though he know he was probably very inexperienced and all, he didn't really like doctors from then on.

Rhiannon gave the man a blank stare, but little lines around her lips gave away her amusement. She was trying not to laugh at the fact that a doctor wanted to amputate a broken arm.
"That's silly of him," she said simply, letting a little smile crack. She continued to work on Dewi and looked up at the much taller man.
"He should be alright," she said, more so to herself. Rhiannon knew James probably couldn't care less. "Anyway, I've never understood why men get so violent towards each other around here. 'Tis more work for me," Annie chided as she stood up after putting a cushion under his head. She couldn't move him herself, but they were close to their tent so she figured he'd be fine laying outside just next to it. It was a nice, cool day after all.
She narrowed her eyes curiously at the man, "Where'd you get that accent? You're an American, aren't you?"

"Well, yes and no. I'm originally from Scotland, back in Britain, but me parents and me moved here when I was only 8, and I have never been able to get rid of the accent. As for the violence thing, I guess it's more something to show the ladies who's strongest and all, to impress them."
Ah,Scotland. It was quite a beautiful region. He was sad to move here at first, but when he got here, his father had a rather large plantation, almost three times as big as his old house, which meant more to explore for him. He loved to explore.

Rhiannon nodded as he spoke of his home country. She too had moved here at a young age. Her Welsh accent hadn't been lost either.
"Ah well, I also move here from over seas," she said. Rhiannon faced him now, a little less unsure of him. She let out a soft laugh when he explained the male's love for violence.
"Well, being as I am a woman, I will tell you to try flowers instead of fighting," she chuckled.

"Eh, I guess it's just in our nature to do so. I don't really like fighting either, but if someone provokes me, I will get him. Like I just did. And, yeah, I have never really cared much for a lady's affection. I've been focusing my mind on other things. I have wanted to go home to Scotland for some time, but now with the war that will probably never happen."
This war had taken a lot of things from him, even though it had only just started. A lot of his mates had already been killed, and if they wanted to gain their independence, there'd have to be a lot more casualties

A few bulky soldiers gathered round the scene, they looked viciously at the american. Dewi roused slightly, his long nose dripping red. He gazed up at th man, throwing his foot out trying to catch him, but it fell short because there was not enough power. Dewi simply cursed, then look at Rhiannon and mumbled his apology. He closed his eyes and sighed. The men that gathered around the man readied themselves for a fight. But Dewi called them back to their stations.

"What? No fight? A shame... Now, what to do, what to do? I mean, if you thought that I was gonna help you make defenses that would work against me mates, you made a horrible, horrible mistake. I'm gonna just go back to town, okay? I'm still not entirely sure why you dragged me here, so please elaborate before I begin walking."
If the man didn't answer in one minute, he'd really begin walking back to town, instead of staying here, chit-chatting with the enemy.

" Grab the bastard lads. " Dewi ordered his soldiers, he pushed himself up from the ground. Dry blood covering his nose. " I'm going to make your life hell. In every way possible." Dewi dusted himself down, his uniform was clean, he had landed in a dry patch.
A few men gathered behind him, some pointed their carbines, pistols, swords, fists and anything that could do harm to him. A few guns clicked into action, Dewi raised his sword formally and pointed it at the captive.
" By the order of the King you are to surrender."

"Surrender? I've done that once already, not the best decision, as I recall. And to what king? that man thousands of miles away from here? And I haven't seen him giving you orders these last few minutes, not that I'd expect him to ever leave his fancy chair"
This time he'd fight, or die in the process. The last time they'd ambushed him. Taken him and his men off guard. He wasn't afraid of them.

Rhiannon was getting a little nervous as Dewi and James began throwing comments back an forth. She hadn't seen anyone die in this war yet and didn't exactly want to either. Sure she had seen death before, but it was a peaceful going and nothing too violent like she knew this would be.
She stood silently watching the scene go down beside Dewi. Rhiannon began to feel a little sick to her stomach, but she kept quiet, not wanting to complain. Besides, Dewi was busy with things more important than herself, so she just placed a hand on her stomach and sighed.

A few men further back started pelting the captive with rocks , in response to his remark about the king. Dewi looked at Rhiannon, she looked sick. " Get some rest babes." He said over his shoulder before turning back to the captive. " Look, you will never escape. Even if you get past these men, the cavalry division will run you down, and I will take pleasure in riding you down and killing you like a dog. And then I will move onto your lads, killing them one by one." He shoved the captive back slightly into the crowd of eager men as they scrambled over the man; grabbing him, shaking him and throwing him to the floor.

Rhiannon shook her head at Dewi and said softly,
"I'm fine, just...deal with the situation. Calmly, if you will," she added on, eyeing him playfully.
She did feel like resting, so she decided she would as soon as she was sure no one else was going to get all bloodied up or knocked to the floor.

After being thrown on the ground, he stood up again.
"I have no intention of escaping mate, I have confidence in the continental troops coming here to kick yer arses, afterwhich the roles will be different. You better not get on me bad side"
Whether the troops would succeed or not, he did not know. He would just have to have a little faith in his friends.

A few beats of the drum sounded and calls of caution and warning. Dewi spun around sensing danger, quickly pulling out his telescope and briskly opening it. He gazed at where men were pointing, then he quickly snapped the spy glass shut. " Stations!" He ordered, even though Dewi knew that his men knew what to do, he had once been a trooper and he knew instinct was the only thing that kept them sane and alive.
He turned back to the captive and said calmly. " It seems your predicament is right."
