I guess I start here?

So I guess I start here.
*Clears throat*
So my character is the daughter of two Dutch immigrants.
She went to New York City alone, after Washington’s army was defeated in Long Island, to get supplies for her family. She was swept up in the army when Howe invaded Manhattan on September 15th and she found herself following the retreating army. Not seeing much of an alternative, she enlisted in the army and hopped to be able to travel back to her family when enlistments ended. However, she had turned out to decent with guns and couldn’t find it in herself to just leave the army because she had begin to sympathize with the patriots.

It was quite easy for her to hide her gender, she only had to worry about her wide hips.

I’d really love to learn how to RP if anyone thinks that they’ll be able to tolerate me

This is gonna have to be a really quick reply from me as I'm trying to multitask ("trying" being the operative word).

ANYWAY. Depending on what sort of things you had in mind for story/plotlines, I can throw one or more of my three characters in the mix. I've got Matthew, James and Henri.
Matthew I'm a little reluctant to post with as I already have him going in a fair few threads, but if he's the only one you think could work in a thread then by all means I'll throw him in.

James is a deserter so there's a possibility she could bump into him (he seems to have a habit of running into cross-dressing girls haha).

Henri is French and looking to join the Patriots' cause. He hasn't really done much really, and I can't easily see a way of your character and him doing much but...hey! If you think something could work, throw them at me!

I guess she could also meet Henri while he’s trying to join the army?

She’s pretty much completely clueless about everything, especially men as the only one she knows is her father.

I can get us a thread set up for Adelaide and James, if you like! Any particular time, setting, place etc. you like it in?

His latest thread is in NJ, but considering he's on the run I doubt he's likely to stay put in one place for too long. So...wherever's good for me! His main priority is going to be getting as far away from any redcoats as he can, possibly finding somewhere to hide, or legging it over the Canadian border and hiding out there, so if there's any sort of plots you could think up to go with any of those things that could work. c:

Hm, maybe Adelaide could be on a scavenging mission in a forest, maybe in Massachusetts or New York, and she finds him holed up in an old abandoned cabin? Or something like that. She’d have absolutely no idea what to do with him, but after he explained himself to her I guess she could help him out somehow?
