Plot-like musings

I was thinking it might be interesting to set up a little intrigue here. The character base right now is fairly diverse and could allow for some decent plotting.

With Colonel Stewart having caught what he believes is a British spy, there might be a chance for a Loyalist or even another redcoat to come upon the scene - or observe it somehow from a distance - and believe he's spotted a Continental spy meeting with the officer responsible for handling him.

In the thread with Andreas and Abby, perhaps news of their being spotted together gets around. Her 'proving' that they were betrothed would only add credit to the misconception. (Then her taking him back to her house. ) And poor Andreas, once the rumours start.

There's also the Poacher thread, in which there's a blossoming argument over wire snares. It could be interesting to have that interrupted after a few more posts by a certain Continental officer, perhaps.

I can't forget the brief run-in that Strout and Bee had during the Foraging thread. For my part, I'd be keen to see them meet up again somehow.


Those are most of my thoughts, anyway. ^_^

Regarding Colonel Stewart, he's currently avoiding me and my dispatches so he's probably off doing this own thing, men lol. But I like both of the ideas you had, I can put him in the poacher thread soon, I just want to get Abby started in there.

As for the lovely 'couple' lol, I have to agree, poor Andreas, he has no idea what he agreed to in that back alley with Abby lol. I see people constantly asking her where Andreas is and her making up some story if he really did never come back, that she heard he had died or moved on or something.

Hee. Yes. There would certainly be some understandable suspicion on Stewart's part should he come across that lot in the woods. ^_^

Questions would be asked on the British side as well, since Andreas is a Hessian. I expect the rumour mill be buzzing fit to burst about his being spotted with a known Patriot. It could be rather uncomfortable for him, perhaps. And Abby as well, of course, for similar reasons.

Oh same, he would be all over the place in the woods with all of them. He would be on his defense pretty much the entire time lol.

Yeah same Abby's constantly telling people who ask that Andreas is fighting up north and not wanting the British to fight out that she was lying to them. She doesn't care what people think of her, but doesn't want to get arrested lol. Them meeting up in the poacher thread again shall be interesting once again. Dallas and I have somewhat of an idea for it.

I've got half a thought about how to get Sergeant Flowers involved with things too, but that may need a few more posts to solidify.

Bump. I've a new character - a young British camp follower - who could use a decent introduction into things. She's somewhat prickly and doesn't have the most optimistic outlook ever, but some harmless (or not so harmless, maybe) adventures would do her good. Being as she's with the 23rd, at least officially, she's in New York - though this can change depending.

I'm thinking she might be away from the 23rd's bivouac for the purposes of washing, perhaps, and has an unexpected/unwelcome visitor. Or she may be on the prowl for a little business and could approach a likely-looking male stranger to proposition him.

It could be quite interesting to see what would happen if a loyalist happened upon Jack and Danny, if they would fire at the two of them, if they would hit either of them, or if they would just try to take them both prisoner! that could make it a fun thread! do we have any more loyalists who haven't met either of the two yet?

Haha if Jack was fired at, he would go directly into soldier mode and fire back. I see Danny rolling her eyes and telling him to stop showing off lol. I like the idea of one of Bog's British guys meeting them lol.

Well, if fired on, firing back would hardly be showing off.

Gibbons was wounded in the Foraging thread, so I don't see him going too far outside his company's camp, but Captain Leighton is free to get around wherever. There's Hannah now as well, though of course she isn't a soldier.

what if they were fired upon by this loyalist or british soldier and Danny was hit? would Jack think the attacker was on his side? haha and Danny would would try to grab a weapon to fire back too, maybe prove her marksmanship to the 'big tough men'

Jack wouldn't be sure how to handle Hannah nor Leighton I imagine

He would be very confused at first, but if fired upon, he'd fire back and then roll his eyes at Danny lol teasing her a bit.

Hmm. Leighton is at least a gentleman, so his manners are steady. Hannah, on the other hand, not so much.

It depends I suppose on what sort of interaction you'd want to have. A somewhat formal, courteous encounter, or one that is rather more awkward and possibly crude?

i think we should go with crude Danny is usually not so good at the courteous stuff, never really had it growing up. although, if she was shot at or hit, and reacted with anger, she would probably have no idea how to react if met with niceties haha

Agreeing with Faithful on this, if Jack thinks he's threatened, he will not be civil at all lol.

Crude it is! Don't quite know how to instigate anyone being shot at though. Hm. Unless this is not a necessary element?
