Can't believe I haven't posted here yet. Shame upon me.
Well, my name is Stacy, I go by Lady B (short for Lady Barbossa). Got Lady B after I joined the Pyracy Pub, username is LadyBarbossa and, despite wanting to change it, I gained the name and reputation for being Lady B. It's stuck since then. I like Lady B, too. Sounds... respectable.
Anyways, I live in Washington, Iowa... small town. I work at the local Radio Station there, KCII as an On Air Announcer.
Alas, not married and no kids (still have yet to find a good Gentleman) but I do often watch my sister's kids, one boy (now 17) and 2 girls. My baby, so to speak, is a 5 yr old cat named Magellan. I've had him since he was born from a stray cat that seemed to... adopt me. Found homes for his siblings and kept him. He's been my joy and life as well as some drama moments.
My hobby.... is reenacting. I have done American Revolutionary War reenacting, but haven't done much of it due to money (most events are 4 hours or more for me and what use to be $30 per event is now $150 per event). I still try and do it if I can, my unit has now disbanded but am hoping to restart another unit (2nd Maryland) that had gone defunct within the NorthWest Territory Alliance, the Rev War association I have been with. I've been an auxilery with the British Legion in the Carolinas and was at the 225th of the Battle of Camden in August 2005. That was incredible!
Along with Am Rev War, I'm into Piracy! Trying to get a pirate crew going in the upper Midwest, focusing more upon the historical aspect rather than the cheap fantasy aspect of anything that's pirate looking. It's far more fun to be historical, we have the gear that's WAY cooler than the not-so-historical trinkets.
I LOVE horse sports! Anything Equitation always captures my eyes more than any other sport. Well, expect the Iowa Hawkeyes during football season. But my favorite of equitation is Dressage. I want to learn it, I started to and have not been back on a horse for a couple years and I yearn to work with horses again, and hopefully have a good horse someday.
Besides riding horse, I LOVE traveling, hikes, canoeing, and something rather off the wall like recently going to the Ames Straw Poll (that was actually a very enjoyable day! I was impressed). Lots of things I enjoy like ethnic foods (from German to Indian), stargate series (Movie, SG-1 and Atlantis. Universe sucked!), Ghost Hunters, Diners drive-ins and dives among other things on the food channel (lots of great ideas), storm chasing and a spotter, .... oh, well you will just have to ask me questions to know me better. Let's just say... I'M FUN!
I've role played for over a decade online, writing progressive stories like these. The one that I got rolling on and got me connected with a gent off east who got me into Rev War reenacting, was doing The Patriot RPG on an AOL chat room. Lots of fun, lots of great stories and more. Also involved in another The Patriot RP that was on Yahoogroups, but that really did not follow The Patriot at all. I've done Sleepy Hollow as well as Pirates of the Caribbean (a few of them), plus Star Wars, Stargate and Transformers. At least.
Looking forward to having fun here.
