This is a collection of questions have been previously asked by members, or are the likely ones to pop up. The answers and information on the subjects will be here to look up.[/size]
If you have a question that is unanswered here, PM the admin and they will post your question up here with an answer; it'll probably help several other members too - so if you don't understand, just ask.

- Who can my characters be?
- Anybody - literally anybody. Any nationality you want and, for the the most part, they can play any role you want, too. So feel free to create Native Americans if you want, and feel free to create European soldiers from Germany, France, Spain or the Netherlands. All we ask is that you take into account a little bit of historical accuracy when designing your character.

- Why aren't all the American States on the site?
- The main reason is because it would be incredibly difficult and pointless creating fifty states, most of which weren't recognised during the time era the site is set in. It would also be impractical - most of the action occurs in the Thirteen British American Colonies, and the boards most likely wouldn't be used.

- How do I determine what side my character is on?
- As a general rule to follow to make it easier, you could run on what nationality they are and/or what country they live in. If you have an English character who lives in America and supports the British, they'd be listed under 'British'. If they support the indepedence campaign, however, they'll be labelled 'Patriot'. The difference between 'British' and 'Loyalist' is simple; 'British' are people who are British and/or have lived some part of their life in Britain. Loyalist would be someone in America, no matter their nationality, who supports the British and their monarchy - also known as being 'loyal to the crown'.
'Canadians' is self-explanatory; anyone who considers themself Canadian goes under this category, and any Native American/Red Indian character would be listed under the 'Native American' category. 'French' consist of French people, 'German' consists of German people, and it goes on...
If you're ever unsure, don't be afraid to ask. If you don't think your character fits any of these little titles, feel free to just put 'neutral'.

- What characters are most in demand?
- Soldiers predominantly, because they will be the ones able to participate in the most events - battles, demonstrations, every day life, and there will always be a lot of people for them to socialise with. What side they support isn't particularly important, however if there becomes an extreme population of a certain allegiance we'd be grateful if you could perhaps choose a different side to help even it out. To check current populations, look under the sidebar 'Current Info' which provides you with the current site stats, as well as a list of characters who are most needed.

- I've found some historically incorrect content - can I request it to be changed?
- Absolutely. Most of the information in the Guidelines board is primarily a w.i.p. with, most likely, a few errors. However, unless the error is drastic - such as a major mistake on information on the sides, locations, dates, military ranks etc. - then it most likely won't be changed. After all, this is an AU approach to the American Revolution, so things are allowed to be slightly bent and to break the history-book rules a little. Because members' roleplays will influence the course of the war, the information may also change over time.

- Do I have to make my characters' histories and roleplays line up to specific dates in history?
- Not unless you want to. You are free to bend the history-book rules, as stated above, but keep it sensible. The British Empire did not fight a war against the entire world - and most likely never will/would - so that's a bit far fetched. However, saying that a character's family member was killed during a demonstration or battle is perfectly fine - the events do not have to line up with actual incidents that occurred.
[/li][/ul]
- Will my characters age?
- If you want them to. There's no set timescale for the site, per se, so you can decide if you wish for them to age or not.
[/li][/ul]
- Can I have separate accounts for my characters?
- No. As the entire rest of the memberbase runs on an account-per-player system, it would start to confuse everyone if you had multiple accounts for each character - that, and there is no user legend set for certain characters.
[/li][/ul]
- Can my characters have relationships and/or children?
- Absolutely! Feel free to marry off your ladies and have your men fall head-over-heels for some lass! If you wish to make the marriage a public event, PM the admin and an announcement can be set up to let everyone know to get involved. Your characters can also have children, if you so wish, though bear in mind that until they are over the age of 11 years old they may only be roleplayed with their parents - or away from them with some connection to them (e.g. the child of campfollower can wander around the soldiers' camp without having their mother involved in the thread - just so long as it's obvious that their mother is around).
Please remember, though, that if two characters do decide to have a child (or accidentally wind up with one - whichever suits) the whole sex part should NOT be written out. Births should also not be too graphic either, if being roleplayed out.
