1180-1185: The Minamoto and the Taira fight for control of Japan. Through victory by the Minamoto the Kamakura shogunate is established.
1600-1615: Tokugawa Ieyasu goes on a long campaign to silence any rebellious powers in Japan, thus unifying Japan under the Tokugawa banner.
1868-1869: The Japanese Imperialists rise up and overthrow the weakening Tokugawa Shogunate. Thus bringing in the Meiji Era.
All three time periods in Japanese history gave rise to many great men and women, all falling with a flash of a blade. So what of the modern age? Now, in an age of what most would call peace, a war is brewing in the shadows. For a yet unknown reason many people in Japan are starting to have strange dreams and images from the past. They are seeing ancient castles, silk kimono, and fierce warriors. To make matters worse strange creatures called Oni are telling these people that they are reincarnations of dead samurai.
As people's memories rise to the surface some embrace these memories and gladly become who they once were. Former lords, now reborn, try and seek power again. Other warriors try and find the reincarnation of past lovers that died in battle. Some seek to find the reincarnation of their killers or rivals in order to make up the for the past. Finally some try and suppress who they once were with all of their power. In this strange new world battle lines are being drawn, and war threatens to engulf Japan once again.
